Conference Lecture

Human Trafficking Conference

We hosted a conference welcoming guest speakers Dr James Sinclair, Phil Brewer, Prof Parosha Chandran and Ishaan Shah to provide us insightful thoughts on the field of human trafficking. It was a great opportunity to hear their hand-on contributions and stories on the field, understand deeply about the legal and political issues exacerbating human trafficking and of course interact with the professionals!

Sports Fundraiser Day

In  this fundraiser event, we engaged in fun sports activities as well as a clothes sale. We managed to raise more than 200 pounds through participation, clothes and food sales! As we partnered with UCL Unicef,  the money we raised went exclusively to Unicef!

75 km fundraising walk

Oxfam - "All things activism" training day

One very influential message that we took away from the experience was when someone said 'Everyone can be an activist in its own way' and since then, we have focused on devising unique ways to make us 'activists' in our own way. We are hoping we can share what we learned throughout such a journey last year and exchange meaningful thoughts and conversation with peers so we can drive important change together.

Shelter UK - Bucket Fundraising

In October of 2022, for our month focused on Poverty, we partnered with Shelter UK to fundraise for them at Charing Cross Station. Members of King's Broadcast for Change stood outside and within Charing Cross Station to collect donations for the charity. It was truly an insightful experience!

Oxfam - Trip to Manchester

In October, Oxfam invited us to a training day in Manchester, funded by the organisation itself. KBFC was able to connect with Oxfam societies from many other universities in the United Kingdom such as Warwick University, University of Edinburgh, Manchester, and more! We were also all able to learn about how to be better campaigners and how to increase our volunteering and growth!

Shelter & Oxfam

In October of 2022, for our month focused on Poverty, we held talks from Oxfam and Shelter dedicated to learning more about the rise of homelessness within and outside of the United Kingdom, and what we as individuals and a community could do to help stop this
